There are a wide range of services available to support children and young people with emotional or mental health issues and so to support their families the Northern Health & Social Services Board commissioned Threshold (a leading voluntary organisation in the field of mental health) to ask children and young people, their parents and the professionals that work with them, what they knew about these services. What emerged was that people (often including the professionals) had only a patchy knowledge of what was available and how it could be accessed and that they would appreciate a quick and easy way of being able to access this sort of information whenever they might need it. This web site was conceived by the Northern Board to assist children, young people, their parents and professionals. It contains details and information on many (not all) of the services which exist to support children and young people with emotional or mental health issues.
